daffodil quilt accessories

Now that my daffodil quilt is finished I needed some matching pillowcases.  I made these on the weekend and also made a daffodil cushion.

The daffodil cushion is made with a large daffodil applique from Kreative Kiwi.

I finally got my embroidery machine back and was able to finish my quilt.

The words of William Wordsworths A Host of Golden Daffodils is embroidered around all 4 borders.

I'll not be doing another quilt again in a hurry, if ever.  There are so many things I want to make and this took a lot of time.  Of course if I'd just made a normal quilt without any embroidery it would have been much quicker.

Now I just need to make some matching pillow cases and I want a daffodil cushion and my bedroom set will be complete.

I had a trip to the Wintergardens with some friends for a girlfriends birthday.  The plants are beautiful. Here are a few photos

Daffodil quilt and Cloth Habit Watson

All the rows of the quilt are now finished and joined together.

Next step is to add the border with Wordsworths' poem "I wandered lonely as a cloud".

I also made the Cloth Habit Watson bra and briefs.  This time I wanted to add foam cups.  The first bra I made was from left over fabric.

The pattern is designed for stretch fabrics, however the foam has no stretch and this ended up way too small.  However the matching briefs are a good fit.

I had another go at the foam cup bra, this time going up a cup size. 

This time the fit is pretty  much spot on.  There is a little gaping where the cup joins the cradle.  I've already altered the pattern, adding a dart to the cradle so next time there shouldn't be any more gaping. The fabric is scuba from Spotlight and I've plenty left over for more briefs. 

I prefer the scuba fabric for these bras.  The top one, made in an ITY was really too flimsy, even though the cradle was interfaced with a tricot interfacing.

I haven't touched the daffodil quilt since September.  I don't have that much left to do so I am going to try and do some each month so I can get it finished before the end of the year.

This is row 6 completed.  Only one more row to do, then they need to be joined, borders added and binding added.

Daffodil quilt, applique butterflies and lip balm holder

Over the last few days I made some progress on my Daffodil quilt.  Another 6 blocks completed and joined to another row.

Here are details of the blocks.

4 rows are now completed, another 3 to go.  I couldn't resist laying them out on the bed to see how they would look.  

Very happy with this.  It is going to brighten the room up when completed.

I've also been obsessed with butterfly appliques from Kreative Kiwi.

These 3 are currently decorating my sewing room.  The gold and silver is made from mylar (metallic gift wrap) and is hanging above the curtains.  The other 2 are attached to the curtains.

The above is actually purple and yellow, colours haven't photographed very well.

And this one is on my kitchen wall.

I've also made a couple of FSL Xmas ornaments and a lip balm holder.  

I've made another lip balm holder,  which I haven't pictured, and I'm using as a USB holder.  I've attached it to my embroidery machine cover to keep my embroidery USB handy.

It's been a busy 10 days in the sewing room.

Daffodil quilt progress and other Machine Embroidery

With one thing and another I haven't done much on my daffodil quilt for the last few weeks.  I got around to having another session and got row 3 completed.  18 blocks now done.

Yesterday was Mothers Day.  I made my Mum this Heirloom Rose Tissue Box cover from Stitch Delight.

I also bought her a fleecy blanket and put some of the daffodil embroidery in one corner.

And for my embroidery machine I made a quilted cover.

My third Burdastyle 9/16 #120 and quilt blocks 9 &10

My third dress.  I again altered the neckline, this time lowering it and I think I've finally found the shape neckline that I really like.  I need to draft a template from this so I can use it on other tops and dresses.

More fabric from the hospice shop, it is some sort of polyester.  I avoided using it for a long time as I didn't really like it, but it looks much better made up.  I had 5metres of it, so I still have enough for another dress.

And I've completed another 2 blocks of my quilt.
